Big Five Safari Africa

The Big Five, lion, leopard, Cape buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros, represent the pinnacle of African hunting. The term was coined by hunters to describe the five most dangerous and difficult animals to hunt on foot in Africa. Each species presents unique challenges that test a hunter's skill, nerve, and physical endurance in different ways.

Brian Van Blerk's career has been defined by dangerous game. With 136+ leopards, 56 lions, 300+ Cape buffalo, and 50 elephant bulls to his name, Brian's combined Big Five experience is among the most extensive of any professional hunter working in Africa today. He offers hunts for four of the Big Five: leopard, lion, buffalo, and elephant. Rhinoceros hunting is extremely limited worldwide and subject to special permits.

A Big Five safari is not a single hunt. It is a series of distinct challenges, each requiring different tactics, different terrain, and different mental preparation. A leopard hunt demands patience and stillness. A buffalo hunt demands fitness and nerve. An elephant hunt demands endurance and precision. A lion hunt demands all of these. Brian guides clients through each challenge with the experience and authority that only 37 years in the bush can provide.
